  • Pillar

Welcome to "Pillar Campus Ministries." College is a time where change is occurring and direction is necessary to maintain a relationship with Jesus. The name "Pillar" stems from understanding our need to be guided through the ups and downs of college life. Exodus 13:21 says "By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night." No matter what, the Lord will guide you, and it is my hope that you can find that guidance through the ministries and the people in our church community. In doing so, we hope you will develop pillars in which to build the rest of your life upon.

You will notice below in the links our ministries of After Hours and Operation Richard Street. Both are outreach focused events that our church supports on Thursday nights during the college semesters.

Please check out the links below for more information on those ministries, as well as the College Activity Calendar.

  • After Hours

After Hours Coffeehouse is a free coffeehouse for all students. We open up our Annex building every Thursday evening of the semester at 9 p.m. and stay open until 1 a.m. You can find the Annex at the corner of Prince St. and King St. Come out and enjoy free coffee, free lattes, free milkshakes, free live entertainment, and free awesome!

The strategic purpose of After Hours is to have a place on Thursday nights that provides a safe atmosphere to foster conversation and develop friendships without the worries of the stereotypical college party. Anyone is welcome to come, and we are always looking for students to help serve as staff, whether you claim to be a Christian or not. We want to see you!

This event runs from mid-August through the second week of May when college is in session.

  • Operation Richard Street

    What is Operation Richard St.?

ORS is a wonderful opportunity to engage the typical party culture with a refreshing taste of God's grace and love. That taste happens to be through grilled hot dogs and free van rides around Shippensburg.

Through ORS, every Thursday night college students gather at the corner of Richard and Queen Streets to grill hot dogs, engage in conversations, walk people to their homes, and we offer van rides as well so students do not have to fear being taken advantage of on their walks home.

We can always use more people helping out with this ministry. Contact Tony at campusstaff@shipfcog.org if you'd like to participate.

This event runs from mid-August through April when college is in session and the weather cooperates with grilling outdoors.

  • Young Adults

We have a Sunday School class for young adults, but there are also older people in the class as well. The reason why we did Sunday School this way is so that young adults and older generations can share perspectives and learn from each other!

For info about the Sunday School group call Antonio.

  • Sunday School

Every Sunday at 9:45am, we meet in room 206 and discuss a variety of topics from "What is God’s will" to "How we engage homosexuality with a biblical worldview." The class is not exclusively a college-aged class, but is for those in college and older. Please join us!
